CELEBRATIONS AND THANKSGIVING

November started out slow at the beginning, but pick up in activities towards the end. First off Todd and I celebrated our birthdays on the 20th, he's 10 and I'm old enough to know better. My Sister Carol took me to lunch the day before at the Claimjumpers in Thousand Oaks. Then on the day of my birthday Glen and I went for a bike ride out to Hueneme Beach and followed the path the to entrance of the harbor and the old lighthouse. That evening we went to Yolanda's and Bryan and Linda Marie met us there. I got a Nintendo DS for my birthday from Glen and B & LM bought me a nice scarf and gloves for our upcoming trip to Michigan.

Todd looks thrilled doesn't he!

Glen's Mom Mrs. Soshea came over one day this month after Glen took her to the Opthamologist and opened her Christmas present because we will be gone for Christmas. She's doing good and looking forward to having cataract surgery in January.

Thanksgiving Day was spent at Bryan and Linda Marie's house. She cooked a yummy meal and we ate it! Thanks LM for doing such a Fabulous job.

As you can see we had a menu, a beautiful roasted turkey. Looks like Bryan is happy - he doesn't have to carve the thing!

Cheesin it for the camera!

As Paula Deen would say "Happy Thanksgivin Ya'll!"

The day after Thanksgiving I went to breakfast with Denise and Mike who came down to celebrate the holiday with Mike's Dad Mr. Kelly.

We can't all be as beautiful as Denise!! Work it Denise, work it!!

And Mr. GQ Mike also working it for the camera.

Oh yeah, Glen had a poker party on the Friday before Thanksgiving but I didn't get any pictures of all the folks there. I took pictures before the game began and the people arrived but I got distracted when they got here - oh well it was fun. Here's a couple of pics of the before game and a picture taken of Bryan at a previous poker party. Just a sample of how crazy they get.

Well that's it for now. Next Saturday Glen, Todd and I hit the road to Michigan following Route 66 all the way from Santa Monica to Chicago! I'll be posting pictures along the way. Take care and happy trails!

SHOTS, HEROES AND PROJECTS

Just and update on what Glen and I are up to these days.

We started out last week getting our flu shots, and as you can see I'm the brave one - Glen cried all the way home and even after we got home - Big Baby.

Then Glen did what he does best and that was acted out his hero fantasy by playing City of Heroes night and day. I took a picture of him in his glory sitting at the keyboard in front of his big computer screen with his headphones on.

Glen did take time out from City of Heroes to help our neighbor next door hang her Christmas Lights and also volunteered his time adjusting some shelves in the library at the Club House here at The Bay. He's a great guy and always willing to help out when he can. All the ladies aroung here LOVE him and think he's the greatest. I definitely agree.

I worked on my "Christmas Project for 08" but as you can see I haven't gotten very far. I just can't get in to it this year for some reason and I don't think I'll even finish it. But to Stephanie and Linda Marie, this is what you would have gotten had I not decided it was too boring to make and quit. Hey - it's the thought that counts RIGHT?

So that's it for now. Glen and I are hosting a Poker Night this coming Saturday so I'll take some pictures of the wild and crazy group and post them to this site. Take care and blog ya later.

VISIT TO BERTIE & BOB'S "HAPPY HOUSE"

Glen and I stopped at Bertie and Bob's house on the way home from my nephew Shane's wedding a couple of weeks ago. They live in Lancaster, and we had a great time at their "Happy House" reminiescing about old times, talking about the future and stuff like that. Bob is an automobile enthusiast and has a couple of old cars in his garage that he has restored. I can't believe we didn't get any pictures of them - oh well, next time. He has his pilots license and loves to fly although he hasn't done so in a while. As most of you know, Glen and I have known Bertie forever but we hadn't really met Bob until just recently even though they have been married for SEVEN years! I guess we have to make up for lost time, and Glen and I are looking forward to that. We had a great time at their house and they made us a wonderful dinner and showed me how to play the Wii game. I like it and now I want one. Maybe I'll get one for my Birthday or Christmas, we'll see. Enjoy the pictures - Glen was obviously the photographer because I don't have one of him.

Bertie & Bob's Happy House

Pretty Little fountain out front - they also have a beautiful Koi pond out back but we didn't get a picture of that for some reason.

Bob - I think he's in Soshea Shock!

Aw that's better - I guess I snapped him out of it.

Me and Bertie - I think we look just like we did years ago only she's a blond and I'm wearing glasses.

Perfect picture of my friend.

HALLOWEEN - ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW!

Bryan and his wife Linda Marie held a Halloween Rocky Horror Picture Show party. Glen went but I stayed home - I'm a fuddy dudd when it comes to stuff like this, but Glen said he had a blast. Each attendee had to participated in the movie and had a bag of goodies to use when they were prompted to do something like make a toast - they threw toast up in the air, throw rice for the wedding, wear newspapers over their heads when it was raining (rain provided by Bryan squirting them with a squirt gun) and a bunch of other gags.

Anyway here are some of the pictures from this years 1st annual ??? Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Party: Humm - maybe I'll go next year!
